Lydia and Mang volunteered at the University of Manchester Science Community Fair, part of the Universally Manchester Festival, representing the Lydia Becker Institute and helping to engage the public with immunology research.

The Community Fair brought together University staff, students, and community partners for a free day of interactive activities designed to inspire curiosity and showcase the University's research. At the Lydia Becker Institute stand, visitors of all ages explored the role of the immune system in protecting the body from viral infections through a series of hands-on games. Activities included "Neutralise a Virus", where participants used giant white blood cell toys to target a virus, "Splat the Virus!", and "Build Your Immune System!", a spinning wheel challenge that introduced players to different immune cell types and their functions.

Through these fun and engaging activities, they helped make immunology research accessible to the wider community while encouraging interest in science and health research.
