Dr Kisby has been awarded a Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (FBMH) Dean’s Prize, a highly competitive scheme supporting two years of research funding to strengthen and enable larger future grant applications, including fellowship bids.
The funded project, “Harnessing Postoperative Blood-Brain Barrier Permeability for Targeted Nanotherapies Against Aggressive Brain Tumours,” aims to exploit a newly identified window of blood-brain barrier permeability following surgical resection to enhance the delivery of therapeutic nanomedicines to residual tumour cells at the resection margin.
Dr Kisby is grateful for the support from the Faculty, which will help accelerate ongoing research and further develop this programme towards future translational funding opportunities.
